वायवाvāyavā याहिyāhi दर्शतेमेdarśateme सोमाsomā अरंक्र्ताःaraṃkṛtāḥ |

तेषांteṣāṃ पाहिpāhi शरुधीśrudhī हवमhavam ||
BEAUTIFUL Vāyu, come, for thee these Soma drops have been prepared:
Drink of them, hearken to our call.

वायvāya उक्थेभिर्जरन्तेukthebhirjarante तवामछाtvāmachā जरितारःjaritāraḥ |

सुतसोमाsutasomā अहर्विदःaharvidaḥ ||
Knowing the days, with Soma juice poured forth, the singers glorify
Thee, Vāyu, with their hymns of praise.
1.2.2
वायोvāyo तवtava परप्र्ञ्चतीprapṛñcatī धेनाdhenā जिगातिjighāti दाशुषेdāśuṣe |

उरूचीurūcī सोमपीतयेsomapītaye ||
Vāyu, thy penetrating stream goes forth unto the worshipper,
Far-spreading for the Soma draught.

इन्द्रवायूindravāyū इमेime सुताsutā उपupa परयोभिराprayobhirā गतमghatam |

इन्दवोindavo वामुशन्तिvāmuśanti हिhi ||
These, Indra-Vāyu, have been shed; come for our offered dainties’ sake:
The drops are yearning for you both.
1.2.4
वायविन्द्रश्चvāyavindraśca चेतथःcetathaḥ सुतानांsutānāṃ वाजिनीवसूvājinīvasū |

तावाtāvā यातमुपyātamupa दरवतdravat ||
Well do ye mark libations, ye Vāyu and Indra, rich in spoil!
So come ye swiftly hitherward.

वायविन्द्रश्चvāyavindraśca सुन्वतsunvata आā यातमुपyātamupa निष्क्र्तमniṣkṛtam |

मक्ष्वित्थाmakṣvitthā धियाdhiyā नराnarā ||
Vāyu and Indra, come to what the Soma-presser hath prepared:
Soon, Heroes, thus I make my prayer.

मित्रंmitraṃ हुवेhuve पूतदक्षंpūtadakṣaṃ वरुणंvaruṇaṃ चca रिशादसमriśādasam |

धियंdhiyaṃ घर्ताचींghṛtācīṃ साधन्ताsādhantā ||
Mitra, of holy strength, I call, and foe-destroying Varuṇa,
Who make the oil-fed rite complete.

रतेनṛtena मित्रावरुणावmitrāvaruṇāv रताव्र्धावṛtāvṛdhāv रतस्प्र्शाṛtaspṛśā |

करतुंkratuṃ बर्हन्तमाशाथेbṛhantamāśāthe ||
Mitra and Varuṇa, through Law, lovers and cherishers of Law,
Have ye obtained your might power

कवीkavī नोno मित्रावरुणाmitrāvaruṇā तुविजाताtuvijātā उरुक्षयाurukṣayā |

दक्षंdakṣaṃ दधातेdadhāte अपसमapasam ||
Our Sages, Mitra-Varuṇa, wide dominion, strong by birth,
Vouchsafe us strength that worketh well.
