दूतंdūtaṃ वोvo विश्ववेदसंviśvavedasaṃ हव्यवाहमhavyavāham अमर्त्यमamartyam |

यजिष्ठमyajiṣṭham रञ्जसेṛñjase गिराghirā ||
YOUR envoy who possesses all, Immortal, bearer of your gifts,
Best worshipper, I woo with song.
4.8.1
सsa हिhi वेदाvedā वसुधितिमvasudhitim महांmahāṃ आरोधनंārodhanaṃ दिवःdivaḥ |

सsa देवांdevāṃ एहeha वक्षतिvakṣati ||
He, Mighty, knows the gift of wealth, he knows the deep recess of heaven:
He shall bring hitherward the Gods.
4.8.2
सsa वेदveda देवdeva आनमंānamaṃ देवांdevāṃ रतायतेṛtāyate दमेdame |

दातिdāti परियाणिpriyāṇi चिदcid वसुvasu ||
He knows, a God himself, to guide Gods to the righteous in his home:
He gives e’en treasures that we love.
4.8.3
सsa होताhotā सेदsed उu दूत्यंdūtyaṃ चिकित्वांcikitvāṃ अन्तरantar ईयतेīyate |

विद्वांvidvāṃ आरोधनंārodhanaṃ दिवःdivaḥ ||
He is the Herald: well-informed, he doth his errand to and fro,
Knowing the deep recess of heaven.
4.8.4
तेte सयामsyāma येye अग्नयेaghnaye ददाशुरdadāśur हव्यदातिभिःhavyadātibhiḥ |

यya ईमīm पुष्यन्तpuṣyanta इन्धतेindhate ||
May we be they who gratify Agni with sacrificial gifts,
Who cherish and enkindle him.
4.8.5
तेte रायाrāyā तेte सुवीर्यैःsuvīryaiḥ ससवांसोsasavāṃso विvi शर्ण्विरेśṛṇvire |

येye अग्नाaghnā दधिरेdadhire दुवःduvaḥ ||
Illustrious for wealth are they, and hero deeds, victorious,
Who have served Agni reverently.
4.8.6
अस्मेasme रायोrāyo दिवे-दिवेdive-dive संsaṃ चरन्तुcarantu पुरुस्प्र्हःpuruspṛhaḥ |

अस्मेasme वाजासvājāsa ईरतामīratām ||
So unto us, day after day, may riches craved by many come,
And power and might spring up for us.
4.8.7
सsa विप्रशvipraś चर्षणीनांcarṣaṇīnāṃ शवसाśavasā मानुषाणामmānuṣāṇām |

अतिati कषिप्रेवkṣipreva विध्यतिvidhyati ||
That holy Singer in his strength shoots forth his arrows swifter than
The swift shafts of the tribes of men.
