सुसमिद्धायsusamiddhāya शोचिषेśociṣe घर्तंghṛtaṃ तीव्रंtīvraṃ जुहोतनjuhotana |

अग्नयेaghnaye जातवेदसेjātavedase ||
To Agni, Jātavedas, to the flame, the well-enkindled God,
Offer thick sacrificial oil.
5.5.1
नराशंसःnarāśaṃsaḥ सुषूदतीमंsuṣūdatīmaṃ यज्ञमyajñam अदाभ्यःadābhyaḥ |

कविरkavir हिhi मधुहस्त्यःmadhuhastyaḥ ||
He, Narāśaṁsa, ne’er beguiled, inspiriteth this sacrifice:
For sage is he, with sweets in hand.
5.5.2
ईळितोīḷito अग्नaghna आā वहेन्द्रंvahendraṃ चित्रमcitram इहiha परियमpriyam |

सुखैsukhai रथेभिरrathebhir ऊतयेūtaye ||
Adored, O Agni, hither bring Indra the Wonderful, the Friend,
On lightly-rolling car to aid.
5.5.3
ऊर्णम्रदाūrṇamradā विvi परथस्वाभ्यprathasvābhy अर्काarkā अनूषतanūṣata |

भवाbhavā नःnaḥ शुभ्रśubhra सातयेsātaye ||
Spread thyself out, thou soft as wool The holy hymns have sung to thee.
Bring gain to us, O beautiful!
5.5.4
देवीरdevīr दवारोdvāro विvi शरयध्वंśrayadhvaṃ सुप्रायणाsuprāyaṇā नna ऊतयेūtaye |

पर-परpra-pra यज्ञमyajñam पर्णीतनpṛṇītana ||
Open yourselves, ye Doors Divine, easy of access for our aid:
Fill, more and more, the sacrifice.
5.5.5
सुप्रतीकेsupratīke वयोव्र्धाvayovṛdhā यह्वीyahvī रतस्यṛtasya मातराmātarā |

दोषामdoṣām उषासमuṣāsam ईमहेīmahe ||
Fair strengtheners of vital power, young Mothers of eternal Law,
Morning and Night we supplicate.
5.5.6
वातस्यvātasya पत्मन्नpatmann ईळिताīḷitā दैव्याdaivyā होताराhotārā मनुषःmanuṣaḥ |

इमंimaṃ नोno यज्ञमyajñam आā गतमghatam ||
On the wind's flight come, glorified, ye two celestial Priests of man
Come ye to this our sacrifice.
5.5.7
इळाiḷā सरस्वतीsarasvatī महीmahī तिस्रोtisro देवीरdevīr मयोभुवःmayobhuvaḥ |

बर्हिःbarhiḥ सीदन्त्वsīdantv अस्रिधःasridhaḥ ||
Iḷā, Sarasvatī, Mahī, three Goddesses who bring us weal,
Be seated harmless on the grass.
5.5.8
शिवसśivas तवष्टरtvaṣṭar इहाihā गहिghahi विभुःvibhuḥ पोषpoṣa उतuta तमनाtmanā |

यज्ञे-यज्ञेyajñe-yajñe नna उदud अवava ||
Rich in all plenty, Tvaṣṭar, come auspicious of thine own accord
Help us in every sacrifice.
5.5.9
यत्रyatra वेत्थvettha वनस्पतेvanaspate देवानांdevānāṃ गुह्याghuhyā नामानिnāmāni |

तत्रtatra हव्यानिhavyāni गामयghāmaya ||
Vanaspati, wherever thou knowest the Gods’ mysterious names,
Send our oblations thitherward.
5.5.10
सवाहाग्नयेsvāhāghnaye वरुणायvaruṇāya सवाहेन्द्रायsvāhendrāya मरुद्भ्यःmarudbhyaḥ सवाहाsvāhā देवेभ्योdevebhyo हविःhaviḥ |

स्वाहाsvāhā देवेभ्योdevebhyo हविःhaviḥ ||
To Agni and to Varuṇa, Indra, the Maruts, and the Gods,
With Svāhā be oblation brought.
