ततtat सवितुरsavitur वर्णीमहेvṛṇīmahe वयंvayaṃ देवस्यdevasya भोजनमbhojanam |

शरेष्ठंśreṣṭhaṃ सर्वधातमंsarvadhātamaṃ तुरमturam भगस्यbhaghasya धीमहिdhīmahi ||
WE crave of Savitar the God this treasure much to be enjoyed.
The best, all-yielding, conquering gift of Bhaga we would gladly win.
5.82.1
अस्यasya हिhi सवयशस्तरंsvayaśastaraṃ सवितुःsavituḥ कचkac चनcana परियमpriyam |

नna मिनन्तिminanti सवराज्यमsvarājyam ||
Savitar's own supremacy, most glorious and beloved of all,
No one diminisheth in aught.
5.82.2
सsa हिhi रत्नानिratnāni दाशुषेdāśuṣe सुवातिsuvāti सविताsavitā भगःbhaghaḥ |

तमtam भागंbhāghaṃ चित्रमcitram ईमहेīmahe ||
For Savitar who is Bhaga shall send riches to his worshipper.
That wondrous portion we implore.
5.82.3
अद्याadyā नोno देवdeva सवितःsavitaḥ परजावतprajāvat सावीःsāvīḥ सौभगमsaubhagham |

पराparā दुष्वप्न्यंduṣvapnyaṃ सुवsuva ||
Send us this day, God Savitar, prosperity with progeny.
Drive thou the evil dream away.
5.82.4
विश्वानिviśvāni देवdeva सवितरsavitar दुरितानिduritāni पराparā सुवsuva |

यदyad भद्रंbhadraṃ तनtan नna आā सुवsuva ||
Savitar, God, send far away all sorrows and calamities,
And send us only what is good.
5.82.5
अनागसोanāghaso अदितयेaditaye देवस्यdevasya सवितुःsavituḥ सवेsave |

विश्वाviśvā वामानिvāmāni धीमहिdhīmahi ||
Sinless in sight of Aditi through the God Savitar's influence,
May we obtain all lovely things.
5.82.6
आā विश्वदेवंviśvadevaṃ सत्पतिंsatpatiṃ सूक्तैरsūktair अद्याadyā वर्णीमहेvṛṇīmahe |

सत्यसवंsatyasavaṃ सवितारमsavitāram ||
We with our hymns this day elect the general God, Lord of the good,
Savitar whose decrees are true.
5.82.7
यya इमेime उभेubhe अहनीahanī पुरpura एत्यety अप्रयुछनaprayuchan |

सवाधीरsvādhīr देवःdevaḥ सविताsavitā ||
He who for ever vigilant precedes these Twain, the Day and Night,
Is Savitar the thoughtful God.
5.82.8
यya इमाimā विश्वाviśvā जातान्यjātāny आश्रावयतिāśrāvayati शलोकेनślokena |

परpra चca सुवातिsuvāti सविताsavitā ||
He who gives glory unto all these living creatures with the song,
And brings them forth, is Savitar.
