अग्नेaghne भवbhava सुषमिधाsuṣamidhā समिद्धsamiddha उतuta बर्हिरुर्वियाbarhirurviyā विvi सत्र्णीतामstṛṇītām ||
AGNI, be kindled well with proper fuel, and let the grass be scattered wide about thee.
7.17.1
उतuta दवारdvāra उशतीर्विuśatīrvi शरयन्तामुतśrayantāmuta देवानुशतdevānuśata आā वहेहvaheha ||
Let the impatient Portals be thrown open bring thou the Gods impatient to come hither.
7.17.2
अग्नेaghne वीहिvīhi हविषाhaviṣā वक्षिvakṣi देवानdevān सवध्वराsvadhvarā कर्णुहिkṛṇuhi जातवेदःjātavedaḥ ||
Taste, Agni: serve the Gods with our oblation. Offer good sacrifices, Jātavedas!
7.17.3
सवध्वराsvadhvarā करतिkarati जातवेदाjātavedā यक्षदyakṣad देवानम्र्तानdevānamṛtān पिप्रयच्चpiprayacca ||
Let Jātavedas pay fair sacrifices, worship andgratify the Gods Immortal.
7.17.4
वंस्वvaṃsva विश्वाviśvā वार्याणिvāryāṇi परचेतःpracetaḥ सत्याsatyā भवन्त्वाशिषोbhavantvāśiṣo नोद्यnoadya ||
Wise God, win for us things that are all-goodly, and let the prayers, we pray today be fruitful.
7.17.5
तवामुtvāmu तेte दधिरेdadhire हव्यवाहंhavyavāhaṃ देवासोdevāso अग्नaghna ऊर्जūrja आā नपातमnapātam ||
Thee, even thee, the Son of Strength, O Agni, those Gods have made the bearer of oblations.
7.17.6
तेte तेte देवायdevāya दाशतःdāśataḥ सयामsyāma महोmaho नोno रत्नाratnā विvi दधdadha इयानःiyānaḥ ||
To thee the God may we perform our worship: do thou, besought, grant us abundant riches.
