यदिन्द्रyadindra परागपागुदंprāghapāghudaṃ नयगnyagh वाvā हूयसेhūyase नर्भिःnṛbhiḥ |

आā याहिyāhi तूयमाशुभिःtūyamāśubhiḥ ||
NOT to forsake me, I invoke this Indra girt by Maruts,
Lord Of magic power who rules with might.
8.65.1
यदyad वाvā परस्रवणेprasravaṇe दिवोdivo मादयासेmādayāse सवर्णरेsvarṇare |

यदyad वाvā समुद्रेन्धसःsamudreandhasaḥ ||
This Indra with his Marut Friends clave into pieces Vṛtra's bead
With hundred-knotted thunderbolt.
8.65.2
आā तवाtvā गीर्भिर्महामुरुंghīrbhirmahāmuruṃ हुवेhuve गामिवghāmiva भोजसेbhojase |

इन्द्रindra सोमस्यsomasya पीतयेpītaye ||
Indra, with Marut Friends grown strong, hath rent asunder Vṛtra, and
Released the waters of the sea.
8.65.3
आā तta इन्द्रindra महिमानंmahimānaṃ हरयोharayo देवdeva तेte महःmahaḥ |

रथेrathe वहन्तुvahantu बिभ्रतःbibhrataḥ ||
This is that Indra who, begirt by Maruts, won the light of heaven
That he might drink the Soma juice.
8.65.4
इन्द्रindra गर्णीषghṛṇīṣa उu सतुषेstuṣe महानुग्रmahānughra ईशानक्र्तīśānakṛt |

एहिehi नःnaḥ सुतंsutaṃ पिबpiba ||
Mighty, impetuous, begirt by Maruts, him who loudly roars,
Indra we invocate with songs.
8.65.5
सुतावन्तस्त्वाsutāvantastvā वयंvayaṃ परयस्वन्तोprayasvanto हवामहेhavāmahe |

इदंidaṃ नोno बर्हिरासदेbarhirāsade ||
Indra begirt by Maruts we invoke after the ancient plan,
That he may drink the Soma juice.
8.65.6
यच्चिदyaccid धिdhi शश्वतामसीन्द्रśaśvatāmasīndra साधारणस्त्वमsādhāraṇastvam |

तंtaṃ तवाtvā वयंvayaṃ हवामहेhavāmahe ||
O liberal Indra, Marut-girt, much-lauded Śatakratu, drink
The Soma at this sacrifice.
8.65.7
इदंidaṃ तेte सोम्यंsomyaṃ मध्वधुक्षन्नद्रिभिर्नरःmadhvadhukṣannadribhirnaraḥ |

जुषाणjuṣāṇa इन्द्रindra ततtat पिबpiba ||
To thee, O Indra, Marut-girt, these Soma juices, Thunderer!
Are offered from the heart with lauds.
8.65.8
विश्वानर्योviśvānaryo विपश्चितो.अतिvipaścito.ati खयस्तूयमाkhyastūyamā गहिghahi |

अस्मेasme धेहिश्रवोdhehiśravo बर्हतbṛhat ||
Drink, Indra, with thy Marut Friends, pressed Soma at the morning rites,
Whetting thy thunderbolt with strength.
8.65.9
दाताdātā मेme पर्षतीनांpṛṣatīnāṃ राजाrājā हिरण्यवीनामhiraṇyavīnām |

माmā देवाdevā मघवाmaghavā रिषतriṣat ||
Arising in thy might, thy jaws thou shookest, Indra, having quaffed
The Soma which the mortar pressed.
8.65.10
सहस्रेsahasre पर्षतीनामधिpṛṣatīnāmadhi शचन्द्रंścandraṃ बर्हतbṛhat पर्थुpṛthu |

शुक्रंśukraṃ हिरण्यमाhiraṇyamā ददेdade ||
Indra, both worlds complained to thee when uttering thy fearful roar,
What time thou smotest Dasyus dead.
8.65.11
नपातोnapāto दुर्गहस्यdurghahasya मेme सहस्रेणsahasreṇa सुराधसःsurādhasaḥ |

शरवोśravo देवेष्वक्रतdeveṣvakrata ||
From Indra have I measured out a song eight-footed with nine parts,
Delicate, faithful. to the Law.
