HYMN XXXV. SOMA PAVAMANA.


आā नःnaḥ पवस्वpavasva धारयाdhārayā पवमानpavamāna रयिंrayiṃ पर्थुमpṛthum |

ययाyayā जयोतिर्विदासिjyotirvidāsi नःnaḥ ||

Pour forth on us abundant wealth, O Pavamana, with thy stream.
Wherewith thou mayest find us light
9.35.1

इन्दोindo समुद्रमीङखयsamudramīṅkhaya पवस्वpavasva विश्वमेजयviśvamejaya |

रायोrāyo धर्ताdhartā नna ओजसाojasā ||

O Indu, swayer of the sea, shaker of all things, flow thou on,
Bearer of wealth to us with might.
9.35.2

तवयाtvayā वीरेणvīreṇa वीरवो.अभिvīravo.abhi षयामṣyāma पर्तन्यतःpṛtanyataḥ |

कषराkṣarā णोṇo अभिabhi वार्यमvāryam ||

With thee for Hero, Valiant One! may we subdue our enemies:
Let what is precious flow to us.
9.35.3

परpra वाजमिन्दुरिष्यतिvājaminduriṣyati सिषासनsiṣāsan वाजसाvājasā रषिःṛṣiḥ |

वरताvratā विदानvidāna आयुधाāyudhā ||

Indu arouses strength the Sage who strives for victory, winning power,
Discovering holy works and means.
9.35.4

तंtaṃ गीर्भिर्वाचमीङखयंghīrbhirvācamīṅkhayaṃ पुनानंpunānaṃ वासयामसिvāsayāmasi |

सोमंsomaṃ जनस्यjanasya गोपतिमghopatim ||

Mover of speech, we robe him with our songs as he is purified
Soma, the Guardian of the folk;
9.35.5

विश्वोviśvo यस्यyasya वरतेvrate जनोjano दाधारdādhāra धर्मणसdharmaṇas पतेःpateḥ |

पुनानस्यpunānasya परभूवसोःprabhūvasoḥ ||

On whose way, Lord of Holy Law, most richi as he is purified.
The people all have set their hearts.
