HYMN XXXIX SOMA PAVAMANA.


आशुरर्षāśurarṣa बर्हन्मतेbṛhanmate परिpari परियेणpriyeṇa धाम्नाdhāmnā |

यत्रyatra देवाdevā इतिब्रवनitibravan ||

FLOW On, O thou of lofty thought, flow swift in thy beloved form,
Saying, I go where dwell the Gods.
9.39.1

परिष्क्र्ण्वन्ननिष्क्र्तंpariṣkṛṇvannaniṣkṛtaṃ जनायjanāya यातयन्निषःyātayanniṣaḥ |

वर्ष्टिन्दिवःvṛṣṭindivaḥ परिpari सरवsrava ||

Preparing what is unprepared, and bringing store of food to man,
Make thou the rain descend from heaven.
9.39.2

सुतsuta एतिeti पवित्रpavitra आā तविषिंtviṣiṃ दधानdadhāna ओजसाojasā |

विचक्षाणोvicakṣāṇo विरोचयनvirocayan ||

With might, bestowing power, thejuice enters the purifying sieve,
Far-seeing, sending forth its light.
9.39.3

अयंayaṃ सsa योyo दिवसdivas परिpari रघुयामाraghuyāmā पवित्रpavitra आā |

सिन्धोरूर्माsindhorūrmā वयक्षरतvyakṣarat ||

This is it which in rapid course hath with the river's wave flowed down
From heaven upon the straining cloth.
9.39.4

आविवासनāvivāsan परावतोparāvato अथोatho अर्वावतःarvāvataḥ सुतःsutaḥ |

इन्द्रायindrāya सिच्यतेमधुsicyatemadhu ||

Inviting him frorh far away, and even from near at hand, the juice
For Indra is poured forth as meath.
9.39.5

समीचीनाsamīcīnā अनूषतanūṣata हरिंhariṃ हिन्वन्त्यद्रिभिःhinvantyadribhiḥ |

योनावyonāv रतस्यṛtasya सीदतsīdata ||

In union they have sung the hymn: with stones they urge the Tawny One.
Sit in the place of sacrifice.
