एतेete सोमाsomā अभिabhi परियमpriyam इन्द्रस्यindrasya काममkāmam अक्षरनakṣaran |

वर्धन्तोvardhanto अस्यasya वीर्यमvīryam ||
OBEYING Indra's dear desire these Soma juices have flowed forth,
Increasing his heroic might.
9.8.1
पुनानासशpunānāsaś चमूषदोcamūṣado गछन्तोghachanto वायुमvāyum अश्विनाaśvinā |

तेte नोno धान्तुdhāntu सुवीर्यमsuvīryam ||
Laid in the bowl, pure-flowing on to Vāyu and the Aśvins, may
These give us great heroic strength.
9.8.2
इन्द्रस्यindrasya सोमsoma राधसेrādhase पुनानोpunāno हार्दिhārdi चोदयcodaya |

रतस्यṛtasya योनिमyonim आसदमāsadam ||
Soma, as thou art purified, incite to bounty Indra's heart,
To sit in place of sacrifice.
9.8.3
मर्जन्तिmṛjanti तवाtvā दशdaśa कषिपोkṣipo हिन्वन्तिhinvanti सप्तsapta धीतयःdhītayaḥ |

अनुanu विप्राviprā अमादिषुःamādiṣuḥ ||
The ten swift fingers deck thee forth, seven ministers impel thee on:
The sages have rejoiced in thee.
9.8.4
देवेभ्यसdevebhyas तवाtvā मदायmadāya कंkaṃ सर्जानमsṛjānam अतिati मेष्यःmeṣyaḥ |

संsaṃ गोभिरghobhir वासयामसिvāsayāmasi ||
When through the filter thou art poured, we clothe thee with a robe of milk
To be a gladdening draught for Gods.
9.8.5
पुनानःpunānaḥ कलशेष्वkalaśeṣv आā वस्त्राण्यvastrāṇy अरुषोaruṣo हरिःhariḥ |

परिpari गव्यान्यghavyāny अव्यतavyata ||
When purified within the jars, Soma, brightred and golden-hued,
Hath clothed him with a robe of milk.
9.8.6
मघोनmaghona आā पवस्वpavasva नोno जहिjahi विश्वाviśvā अपapa दविषःdviṣaḥ |

इन्दोindo सखायमsakhāyam आā विशviśa ||
Flow on to us and make us rich. Drive all our enemies away.
O Indu, flow into thy Friend.
9.8.7
वर्ष्टिंvṛṣṭiṃ दिवःdivaḥ परिpari सरवsrava दयुम्नमdyumnam पर्थिव्याpṛthivyā अधिadhi |

सहोsaho नःnaḥ सोमsoma पर्त्सुpṛtsu धाःdhāḥ ||
Send down the rain from heaven, a stream of opulence from earth. Give us,
O Soma, victory in war.
9.8.8
नर्चक्षसंnṛcakṣasaṃ तवाtvā वयमvayam इन्द्रपीतंindrapītaṃ सवर्विदमsvarvidam |

भक्षीमहिbhakṣīmahi परजामprajām इषमiṣam ||
May we obtain thee, Indra's drink, who viewest men and findest light,
Gain thee, and progeny and food.
9.8.9
